For the first time EVER, a Combat-Infantry Sergeant and a Special Operations Force Recon Marine have joined forces to equip and educate other returning combat-veterans on how to FIGHT and WIN the most common battles they face after returning home from war (PTSD, TBI, Depression, Anxiety, Isolation, Suicide, Divorce, etc). Fleming and Robichaux's roles as Resiliency Trainers for the U.S. Military have taken them to bases and installations across the globe. Throughout the pages of history, America's warriors have fought several wars abroad, but after coming home many of these warriors REDEPLOYED to a new war A War Within. The lessons learned through war can change a person's life forever. These lessons may even change yours...

Not that long ago, the public voice available on behalf of the Veteran community was relatively small and, to be quite honest, fairly unassuming and unaggressive. In recent years, that has thankfully begun to change.

Being a writer for the Ranger Up and Rhino Den community has given me several great opportunities, but none more near and dear to my heart than the concept of providing a public voice to those who don't have one and thereby shining some light on certain issues such as the ones covered in this book. I can confidently speak for the others at Ranger Up and The Rhino Den when I say that Veterans who have returned from combat and are suffering--either mentally or physically or both--are at the top of our lists of things that need to be addressed and have brought to the attention of more and more people.

Redeployed is a book that not only addresses the important issues faced by returning combat Veterans, but it smashes the misperceptions people may have about the problem while laying out a road map of how to deal with them--all from people who know what they are talking about, both from an experience point of view as well as an educational one. Chad and Brian are not short on experience, to be sure. But what sets them apart more than their background is their willingness to lay open their own wounds for all to see; being honest in their own struggles and how they faced them makes this a truly unique and needed work.

I was introduced via email to Chad Robichaux by another Veteran and Ranger Up alumnus, retired LTC Kelly Crigger. Prior to that introduction, I was unaware of who Chad and Brian--and the Mighty Oaks Program they are a part of--were and what they were doing. From the moment I started looking into their organization, however, I have been continually impressed and more and more grateful for their continued dedication to the Veteran community. It is truly inspiring to know that men like this exist and are out there, every day, working their tails off to address problems that have been largely swept under the rug by large bureaucracies. We live in a time with a federal government that has exploded in size and, as a result, numerous categories within that system have been either minimized or simply forgotten.

At Ranger up and The Rhino Den, we speak frequently of the ".45%"--the very small percentage of the population of the United States who served in the military. We understand that there is a difference between that .45% and the rest of the country, and an even more pronounced difference between those who have seen the horrors of war and those who great them when they return home. Chad and Brian have, with this book, gone far beyond addressing those differences--they have shown, in detail, why they exist and how to manage them.

It is in that regard that this book is for a much wider audience than just returning combat Veterans. Those who are in the family of a combat Veteran or those who work in the field of Veteran's advocacy would benefit highly from what is written in the following pages (point of fact, there are a disproportionate number of "psychologists" employed by the Veterans Administration who should have this be required reading prior to treating any more patients). I highly encourage anyone who is even remotely connected to the Veteran community to take a few hours of your time to become acquainted with Redeployed.

Isaiah 6:8 is a familiar Bible verse to the warrior community. "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, `Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, `Here am I. Send me.'" Redeployed is a book for those who answered the call of their country by saying "send me." It is for those who said those words and realized that life would never be the same, for better or worse, because of the path that call took them on.

From those at Ranger Up and The Rhino Den, let me just say that our own dedication to those who answered the call and chose to serve is only inspired and made better by the work of men like Chad and Brian. Redeployed will be on our recommended reading list for a long time to come.

Holy Moly-
This book hold absolutely nothing back! It is the most open I have ever heard a man talk about their struggles. It is pretty clear this book was written to benefit others, put all personal pride aside. A true eye opener and has totally changed my view on my post combat internal struggles. My wife must read this so she can hear something that i'm not capable of telling her in my own words. A MUST READ for anyone.

The insight, resources and truth offered by Chad and Brian gives the reader resolve to buck up and prepare for the fight worth fighting... Family, life and the Love God intends for us. This book is a start and I hope the start of true healing for my veteran. Freedom from living in the past and the option to choose his future. Thank you for this book... Amazing insight and perspective.
This book was not what I expected after hearing about it on NPR but that's "my bad" for not doing some homework. I think this might be an excellent book for veterans of modern day conflicts ( post WWII ) as it is geared towards redeployment into society - how to shed mental baggage and take down the barriers many have brought home with them. God Bless our Armed Forces who go into harm's way for the greater good. If that happens to be you then please know that you have my respect and gratitude.

God Rest those who gave their all.
The best book I've read on PTSD!!!
I've lived with a combat veteran from Vietnam. He's never talked much. I learned from this book what he was thinking, how he feels.
He has opened up last few years after reuniting with battle buddies.
Thank you for helping me understand!!!!!
I have already referred this book to my niece who's married to a SF solider. He right now on 3rd deployment she's already told him he's reading this book.
I will purchase a hard copy for my grandson who is in Afghanistan for his return.
A must read for anyone military or family of military.
This book was very insightful and gave me hope. My husbands PTS is like riding a rollercoaster. Having been through VA PTSD inpatient program and seeing how that gave him his life back, it isn’t lasting. I know he needs to seek Christ to truly regain his life, our life. I pray he will chose to read this. Thank you for following the call to help other vets fighting this awful beast. Blessings
I've read numerous books regarding PTSD, many of them very good. However this may be one of the best. Not only are the authors very candid by truthfully saying "We're by no means over this, we still have our days", I appreciated their faith being shared as the structural foundation of their healing because I believe it and have WITNESSED it.

I've read PTSD books that state how religion can play a role in helping soldiers, but it's been too general and broad for me. As a Christian, THIS book filled that void for me. They may be masters in martial arts and be blessed in their lives *now*, but proclaim how they would not be where they are without God.

Should you be a person of faith and wanting to learn about PTSD, or feel as I do - that many well written books have had that something *missing* - please give this book a try. It's a fairly quick read, but great in content (I've underlined half the book!) I will definitely reread it and recommend it to others.
This book was enlightening. Being a part of the military doesn't mean you are keyed into the struggles of your fellow service members. This book shed new light on the struggle of PTS and gave hope for tomorrow. It gives the reader tools to help instead of standing on the sidelines and watching as a brother or sister in arms circles until they crash in flames. If you have a friend or loved one that might be suffering from PTS or simply the horrors of war, please read this book! You might be their only hope.
